MuVIM’s Library is focused on the knowledge of Enlightenment and Modernity, a place for Modern Thinking research and diffusion, intended for the use of both museum staff and the society at large.

MuVIM’s Library and Documentation Centre opened on 20 October 2004. Its bibliographical collection is composed of the union of several libraries: the MuVIM founding collection, Alfons Roig Library and the Biblioteca General de Diputació (provincial government’s library), including its ancient documentary base, cartographic collection, etc. The book collection of the former Valencian Institution of Studies and Research (IVEI) and Lambert Family Library were added in 2005 and 2013 respectively.

The Library is constantly increased and updated by new purchases which complement the MuVIM proposal of activities (temporary exhibitions, seminars and lectures, cinema series, etc). That’s why the library includes an interesting bibliographic collection of posters, engravings, graphic design, photography, cinema, etc.
