On the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, on Wednesday 21 November we invite you to the inauguration of the exhibition “Irreparable Picture” by Nasrin Tabaeian, the new artwork of the MuVIM’s Stained Glass Window. The Iranian artist presents the situation of women who live in sexist and patriarchal societies, paying special attention to the added problem of shame, seclusion and silence of victims.

The Iranian artist Nasrin Tabaeian’s artistic production aims to complaint and raise awareness on gender-based violence. Her work makes us face a devastating reality: the existence and persistence of acid attacks as one of the spread modalities of violence against women. The image, apparently simple and even beautiful, denounces this brutal practice which causes irreparable damage — as the title of the picture — but also points out the possibilities for emotional and life reconstruction and the unalienable character of that which can never be removed: the value and dignity of these women.
